Katy Perry

Last night my mummy and I saw Katy Perry. I was very lucky to be so close to Katy Perry.
My favourite three songs were Walking on Air because of the blue sheet going over the top of us in the VIP Reflection area, This is How We Do because it was colourful and it even had a car and finally Firework because of Katy Perry's pretty dress.
It was so late when it finished, I was sleeping in the car. Mummy had to drive all the way home while I was sleeping.
It was a very long wait because in the car park building nearly all the people parked in that building.

My Trip to Christchurch

I am up on top of the hill seeing the world of Christchurch.

I went to Willowbank. My favourite animal was the goat because they were cute and really greedy. My second favourite were the two otters because they made a funny sound right before they got their lunch. One of the eels was really really greedy, I was scared. We could hear their teeth scraping on the spoon.
It was a fun adventure.

I saw some giraffes at the church made from cardboard. The old cathedral fell down in the earthquake.

I saw the broken church with lots of pigeons living in it. It is a very special church to Christchurch.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Toby the Dragon!

I love using my imagination to make up stories. I made up this story to teach people about how to make friends. You can be friends with all sorts of people, especially people that might be different to you.

My friends and I turned my story into a fun movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. My mum helped me to edit the movie and my friends Caleb and Toby drew the pictures. I chose the music with my big friend Alosina.

I really hope you like my movie, my friends and I loved making it - especially wearing our costumes.

My Holiday

Last week we went to the Coromandel. It takes a long time to get to the Coromandel. It  takes about two hours to get there. We stayed at Ruffins bay in a beach house.                                                         Fishing was one of my favourite things. We fished on the wharf, I caught two fish. I liked touching the gooey fish.

I said to mummy, "Can we go adventuring?" She said "Yes!"
We went adventuring in the forest behind our house. We found, steps, mud, trees and paths. One path was very muddy, the other path was not that muddy just grassy.
On one of the muddy paths, I got stuck in the mud! I took my gumboot off and my sock too, I hung them on a tree so they wouldn't get muddy. Fynn went to get help.
Adventuring is nature with mud, trees, exercise and being powerful. This was my favourite thing in the Coromandel.

I read this story with my teacher. My mummy made an activity using Explain Everything so I could do more learning about the story. This story is so funny. I know lots of stories about Jonathan and his Grandad.

The Man Whose Mother was a Pirate - A Play.

On a windy day - a really, really windy day, I went to a show. It was a play called The Man Whose Mother was a Pirate. I went with my cousins - Kason and Cohen, and also Fynn and Max.
The show was about the little man who didn't like the sea, but in the end he did. His mother is funny. She was a pirate, but a silly pirate. We had to do things like help the parrot fly, make wind by waving paper and they even sprayed us with water and we weren't allowed to complain.
The funniest thing that we had to do was not complain about the white water spray. It was icky ooo. Luckily mummy and I didn't get much spray on us.
My favourite character was Mr Fat. He was so funny and so fat. The funniest thing that he said, was when he called himself fat. He always eat purple, juicy plums. Sam, the little man, had to pick up all the pips from Mr Fat's plums, because Mr Fat is his boss.
The pirate mother missed the sea and so she asked Sam if he would like to go, but he wasn't sure. His mother said "Come on, the sea will be perfect." They packed up everything in the wooden wheelbarrow and headed for the sea.
When they got to the sea they met a sailor, he was funny too. When the play finished they sang one song that was about sailing.

Graga's Birthday

Looking out from the high Sky Tower, with Gigi and Graga, we could the see the city of Auckland.

We saw lots of buildings, boats too. We were even spinning on our chairs to see all the things.

Do you know what I had for lunch? The most exciting thing - Fish and Chips! After my fish and chips I had chocolate ice cream and lollies.

My favourite thing I saw were the people jumping from the Sky Tower. It looked scary - I would never go on that. They zoomed right past the window. It was really fast. The people were crazy.

I could even see the bottom of the Sky Tower because of the glass floor. The first time I saw the bottom I was scared because I thought that I was going to fall down. But then I wasn't scared, it was fun!

Aeroplanes

Class 16's aeroplanes are flying through the sky.

Magical Pony

This is a story I wrote about a pony because we were practicing conjunctions.

Going to Wellington

This weekend I went to Wellington because it was my cousins birthday party, he was turning 5.
After school on a hot sunny Friday, I went on the aeroplane. I watched frozen while we were on the plane.
As we landed, mummy had to call the flight attendant to bring me a lolly because my ears were hurting really badly. The girl behind us had something wrong too.
Once we had landed, I was so excited because we were in Wellington and it was my first time. Even more exciting I got to see the pilots in the flight deck. They showed me lots of buttons and I told them the four forces of flight.
There is lift to go up, drag to slow you down, thrust to make you go forwards and gravity to make you go down and land on the runway.
The pilots were impressed and they asked me to be a pilot. But I didn't want to be a pilot, I wanted to stay with mummy, daddy and all my family.

Fiafia Rehearsal

Dancing on the stage, I was a super star Hip Hopper at our Fiafia rehearsal.
First, we had to wait for our turn, sitting on the field in the hot hot sun. I was excited when we were going on to the stage because I like dancing.
The song that we danced to was called The Sound of Sunshine. Do you know why Mrs Samuels chose this song? Because, it is the end of summer, but the weather felt very hot.
I was standing next to Toby and Aaliya. We did lots of poses in the middle of the dance.
We wore summery clothes. I wore a hula skirt with a yellow skort underneath. Do you know why I wore that? So then nobody could see my undies. Toby was wearing an orange singlet and green and black shorts. Aaliya was wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
The Fiafia is on Wednesday night - tomorrow.  The 9th of April, at our school.
I think that the builders worked very hard to make the stage out on our school field.
I love Fiafia!

The Festival of Education

Today I went to the Festival of Education. I made a movie using iMovie and Lego. I shared it with my netball friends Eden and Levonah.
I showed the visitors how to use iMovie because they didn't know.
We had fun using the iPads.

Here is the movie I made - The Difficult Rabbit.
The rabbit didn't want his breakfast, so the girl had to chase him. Hedgehog, the rabbit's friend, came too and they had a sleep. When they woke up the kitten was there.

The Seahorse

The seahorse found the beautiful Ariel. He said “Hello, who are you?”
“I am Ariel the princess, who are you?”
“I am Dag, let’s play.” said the seahorse.
“Sorry Dag, I can’t play.”
“Why?”
“Because I have castle work to do.”

“OK then, see you tomorrow.” said Dag the seahorse.

Burma and all the other Animals

I saw Burma at the zoo. I saw her close up because she was having a walk around the zoo. When I saw Burma she was saying “Hello” to everybody in Auckland Zoo.
Burma likes rolling in the mud because it keeps her skin soft and the mud protects her from the sun as well.
It was so fun seeing Burma.
The other animals were giraffes, hippos, baboons, monkeys, tigers, alligators and tortoises.

Meeting New Animals

When we saw Bella Donna I was on holiday at Waipu. Bella Donna was a little horse who was in charge of her friend - Josie the Donkey. Bella Donna lived at the house that we stayed at. We got to feed her and pat her. It was fun. Her mane was soft and very very beautiful.
Ramsey the sheep has the same name as Uncle Mike’s dog. Ramsey is a nice name. His wool was shaved off in some places because he was a bit sick and the sheep might be very hot.
Angus is a Highland Cow. He had hair over his face, he also had great big giant horns. His friend had big giant horns too and his name was Dougal. We didn’t get to feed them because they are dangerous. The lady farmer threw the hay to them over the fence.
The Alpacas were called Pete and Nike we got to feed them. Their mouth felt like a soft pillow when we fed them.
There was also a dog at the house, his name was Charger. Charger was a cute dog, his owners were Smac's friends.

I like Bella Donna the best out of all the new animals I met on holiday.
